Next PhaseAs I get older, I realize there are only a certain amount of people who will truly be there for you. Los Angeles Leadership Academy has brought me many great memories. I have learned there is a world outside of mine. As I get ready to leave I am glad to say that I wish to help others who are in need. Not everyone has the support they need. I want to be the person who is there for teens and give them a helping hand when they believe they are alone, because this is not true. I will be attending San Francisco State University in the Fall, to study Psychology and then hopefully become a type of therapist.

9th Grade• Meeting Seniors who had studied abroad, it showed me that I shouldn't be scared to try new things. We are young and should explore, we expect the worst but sometimes the outcome is positive.
• My parents filed their divorce, and this made me realize things aren't always perfect, and as much as you do not want something to happen it will. |
10th Grade• There are only a small group of people who care for you, and even then from that small group there is another small group within who will truly appreciate you.
• A close friend got pregnant and she continued school until she finished the year, this is something I was very shocked by, this is because she showed me that when you set your mind out to do something you can achieve it. In the end it all depends how strongly you want it. |
11th Grade• Cesar Chavez day at the Children Institute. Going to help the little kids with their drawings, and simply play with them was touching to me because of how happy they were, and it showed that you do not need to go out of your way to help others, small things mean a lot as well.
• Younger sister was going through depression, I was able to grow as a person/older sister and try being there for her. I learned to value her more, and better my communication with her. |
12th Grade• Going through a lot of stress, not everything is as easy as it seems. What you do since the start of High School is important and you might think it isn't but it is. You should always go above and beyond in what you do.
• I learned to speak up for myself, and decide on what I believe is best for me starting with where I wanted to go to college. |
